Dr Melinda Cook, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr Cook consults at Holy Spirit Northside Breast Health Centre where she practices exclusively in the field of breast surgery for benign and malignant disease, thyroid and parathyroid disease.
After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1995, Dr Cook completed a three-year residency at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She was accepted onto the advanced surgical training program and undertook five years of specialty training, which included a year as the burns trauma fellow.
Dr Cook completed her training with a 12-month Breast & Endocrine Fellowship under the guidance of Professor Ian Gough, Dr Colin Furnival, Dr Barry Fryar, and Dr Teresa Nano.
Dr Cook has been in private practice since 2006
Dr Cook holds an appointment at Breast Screen Queensland.

Dr Ben Green, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr Green has a keen interest in breast cancer research, and is currently undertaking a PhD in Breast Cancer Molecular Genetics, investigating potential biomarkers to predict and identify early disease recurrence.
Dr Green completed his medical degree in Tasmania before moving to mainland Australia to commence his surgical training.
He completed advanced general surgical training in 2010 at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. In 2011, he underwent post-fellowship training at the Mater Hospital, with a second year at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and North West Private Hospital.
Dr Green recently joined Holy Spirit Private Breast Health Centre. He has a public appointment at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he is involved with complex breast and endocrine cancer cases and is working toward establishing a high-risk familial breast cancer clinic.

Dr Jenny Gough, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr Gough’s special interests in breast surgery include oncoplastic techniques for breast cancer, sentinel lymph node biopsy and high-risk breast cancer patients.
Dr Gough is a UQ graduate and gained her FRACS in General Surgery in January 2007.
Dr Gough undertook post fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital in London in 2007, and was the Oncoplastic Breast Fellow at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London in 2008. She extended her time in the UK gaining operative experience in minimally invasive endocrine surgery and oncoplastic breast surgery.
Dr Gough returned to Brisbane in January 2009 to commence private practice and was also appointed as a General, Breast and Endocrine surgeon at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital from 2009 to 2014.
She was a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland during this time and continues to be involved in medical training as a clinical tutor for the Bond and Griffith University Medical Schools and for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons ASSET Course.
Dr Gough is a member of the Australian Medical Association, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, BreastSurg ANZ, Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
In endocrine surgery her special interests include complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery using minimally invasive techniques and adrenal surgery using the laparoscopic posterior retroperitoneal approach.
Dr Gough consults and operates at HSNPH and welcomes the opportunity to be part of the medical team within the Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital Breast Health Centre.

Dr Kate Stringer, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr Kate Stringer specialises in all aspects of breast cancer surgery, thyroid surgery and parathyroid surgery including minimally invasive techniques.
Dr Stringer completed her fellowship in General Surgery and undertook further training as a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon as the RBWH and Ramsay Health Fellow.
Dr Stringer is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a Clinical Tutor for Bond and Griffith Medical Schools. She thoroughly enjoys teaching medical students.
Dr Stringer is involved in the Brisbane Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Meeting held fortnightly. The management of all breast cancer patients is discussed at this meeting which is attended by specialist medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, geneticists and breast care nurses.
Dr Stringer is a member of the Australian Medical Association, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, BreastSurgANZ, Australasian Society of Breast Disease, Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.

Dr Clement Wong, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon
Dr Wong has a strong research interest in familial breast cancer and thyroid cancer.
Dr Wong graduated from the University of Queensland and completed his residency at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
His advanced surgical training was received in Queensland, almost exclusively at Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals. In 2009, he was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He undertook post-fellowship training in breast and endocrine surgery at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Dr Wong trained for one year in Adelaide with a world-leading endocrine surgeon in complex thyroid surgery, minimally invasive parathyroid surgery and adrenal surgery.
He is a consultant surgeon at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and has an appointment at Breast Screen Queensland.
